Hi you all who have stumbled upon this blog. Metastic breast cancer is no joke, any cancer cancer isn't. I was originally diagnosed with stage IIIb breast cancer in 2014 after I fell on my mountain bike and hit my chest on the bike handlebars. Soon a lump appeared on my chest and I was certain it was from the fall, to be sure made an appointment with my primary doctor. Further tests, such as biopsies etch confirmed the worst: it was cancer, indeed. I was scheduled for surgery, followed by chemotherapy and then radiation. After all the radical treatments, I was put on hormone pill anastrozole, which I was supposed to be on 10 years. Well, this pill lost its effectiveness in a year. While mountain biking (as always) I noticed my lungs having to work extra hard to ride uphill, soothing was not right. I mentioned it to my oncologist who then ordered ct scan of my lungs. Results: groundglass nodules metastasis and off to PET/scan. PET/scan reveal even more: metastasis to spine, liver and lungs. Treatment plan: Ibrance along with Faslodex injections and consult with radiology oncologist for the spine. My first Ibrance starts tomorrow October 25th.
